Live DJ party play. Ukrainian Folk singing. Queering The Beatles. Theatre Deli presents 10 fresh slices of experimental works in progress from artists across the globe in our Summer programme of Shift+Space.

What brings this eclectic mix together - spanning dance, puppetry and multisensory theatre - is our unique feedback model, where companies receive audience feedback on their Friday showing and then have 24 hours to make changes before they perform again on Saturday. These productions rely on audiences in order to progress, so book in your tickets to be a part of their journey!

We open with Formas Extrañas by Immersive Cypher, on the 23rd & 24th May, which sees Breaking choreography, Sudamerican Folclor rhythms, and Bristol’s Electronic Music sound environments collide in an innovative live experiment. Prometheus NOW, on the 30th and 31st May, uses Ancient Myth to bring you into a multisensory world and examines our relationship with a fast changing world.

Warming up June is Cookies, on the 13th & 14th June, a new play exploring a future where AI predicts crimes before they happen, and you are guilty until proven innocent. We are marking Refugee week on the 20th & 21st of June with Viddani (Devoted), a celebration, a contemplation and an interactive performance, told through Ukrainian folk singing with the Spivanka singers. On the 27th & 28th June, we will explore the importance and necessity of fleeting human connections in Waste Not. Want Not, a new piece of writing on homelessness and heartache.

Adapted from Bora Chung’s Cursed Bunny, The Head explores the complex dynamics between East Asian mothers and daughters through surrealism, horror and puppetry, on the 4th and 5th July. A bunch of artists with no funding, the ultra-wealthy, and one very sexy Death present a show about the relationship between Art and Money, in the Triumph of Death on the 11th & 12th of July. Soak in the rays of the long hot summer of ‘69 in brand new fever dream Someone Has Got To Be John, on the 18th and 19th of July.

Immersive yourselves in dance via a party play about navigating intimacy and trauma, in CODACHROME: A live DJ set about the time I fell in love with a [trigger warning], on the 25th and 26th July. We wrap up the summer season on the 1st & 2nd of August with Our Ladies of The Sea, a beautiful and comforting reflection on grief for members of Black and Trans communities through cultural folktales, shadow puppetry and mermaids.
