Black Lives Natter Black Lives Natter Community. Creativity. Conversation. Black Lives Natter is a London-based community arts organisation dedicated to providing free and low-cost opportunities and events for Black and Global Majority individuals. We focus on survivors, neuro-diverse, queer, older creatives, those with disabilities, and others within these communities who have historically been denied access to the arts. We believe that communities thrive when the individuals within them are seen and heard. Through shared stories, art, and theatre, we aim to heal, document, and celebrate lived experiences, creating safe, non-judgmental spaces that increase access, awareness, inclusion, engagement. All our regular events and activities take place online and at Theatre Deli in London Black Lives Natter is a resident company of Theatre Deli which has hosted its events since its inception in 2022, and was a co-producer of BLN's Black Joy in 2023. For more information on our year-round programme of events please see the links below The SpeakEasy Programme The SpeakEasy Programme is Black Lives Natter’s creative programme, nurturing and showcasing Black and Global Majority voices through writing, music, and spoken word. It consists of three key strands, each offering unique opportunities to create, perform, and connect: SpeakEasy Po’JaM – a bi-monthly music and spoken word open-mic night for Black and Global Majority artists, with resident artists and guest performers. Beginners and experienced artists alike are welcome to share their work in a supportive, inclusive space. The programme culminates in Po’JaM Seasoned, an end-of-year curated showcase celebrating the talent and creativity of the year. SpeakEasy Page-to-Stage – monthly writing workshops, offered online and in-person at Theatre Deli, that guide participants from writing to performance. Sessions explore storytelling, monologues, spoken word, and poetry. Page-to-Stage Mono-Scratched is a monologue showcase opportunity open to Black and Black mixed writers as part of Black History Month UK. SpeakEasy Co’LaB – a monthly creative drop-in and community hub for Black and Global Majority writers, musicians, and performers. Participants can bring instruments, work, or ideas to collaborate, share projects, and develop creative practice. Co’LaB LiVE, a one-hour live open-mic, takes place as part of Co’LaB during SpeakEasy Saturday, giving artists a supportive space to showcase music, poetry, and spoken word. SpeakEasy Saturdays bring all three strands together in a full-day in-person programme at Theatre Deli, including Page-to-Stage, Co’LaB, and our 1 hour open-mic Co’LaB LiVE BLN Pop-Up Bookshop A monthly Black & Global Majority pop-up bookshop selling new and pre-loved books.
