About the Technique
The Meisner technique is regarded as theatre’s best kept secret. It is an approach to acting which was developed by the American theatre practitioner Sanford Meisner. The focus of the Meisner Technique is for the actor to “get out of their head” such that the actor is behaving instinctively to the surrounding environment honestly and truthfully under the imaginary circumstance.

About The Classes
Our open class set up invites participants from all levels to join, working through the components of the Meisner Technique. The class will begin with a warm up exercise based on Meisner's preliminary repetition exercises. Following this you will work in partners (decided on by the teacher, Craig) depending on where you're at in the technique. Students who attend the class will experience Single Word Repetition, Calling on Behaviour, Independent Activities, Knock at the Door, Emotional Preparation. For students who come consistently and are comfortable with these components, there are script classes using the Meisner Technique not available to be booked through the website, only via communication with the teacher.
