Black Lives Natter SpeakEasy

The SpeakEasy Programme is Black Lives Natter’s creative programme, nurturing and showcasing Black and Global Majority voices through writing, music, and spoken word. It consists of three key strands, each offering unique opportunities to create, perform, and connect.

SpeakEasy Po’JaM

SpeakEasy Po’JaM is a bi-monthly Black & Global Majority music and spoken word open-mic night at Theatre Deli Cafe/Bar London. Black Lives Natter invites audiences and creatives to a night of music and word fusion. The night is hosted by Eljai Morais with Resident Po’JaM Artists Stephane Harivelo, Josh Olusanya and Sizterly Love with open-mic guests.

Page-to-Stage 

Monthly evening online writing workshops giving participants the chance to explore Page-to-Stage writing & performance exercises & techniques from home. Workshops are guided by SpeakEasy Coordinator Eljai Morais and Guest Facilitator - Daniella Fearon

Mono-Scratched 

A monologue showcase open to Black and Black mixed writers as part of Black History Month. Writers submit original monologues for development and performance (deadline 31st August.) Rehearsals focus on stagecraft, direction, and presentation, culminating in a performance at Theatre Deli. [Submit Here]

SpeakEasy Saturday 

A monthly one-day programme of events for Black & Global Majority individuals at Theatre Deli from 12pm to 6pm on a Saturday. The SpeakEasy programme aligns multiple voices in unison to celebrate, community joy, empowerment, and creativity through - SpeakEasy Page-to-Stage writing workshops, SpeakEasy Co’LaB social and creative drop-in, and SpeakEasy Co’LaB LiVE a music and spoken word open mic, all which nurture and amplify Black and Global Majority creativity. Sign up for one, or all three SpeakEasy strands at Theatre Deli. Be part of our community ecosystem. Create something to share and perform.
